Monolith LT Portable Telescope Piers

What makes our piers light years ahead of the competition?

We think of our telescope piers more than just a stand. We design and manufacture them to be a super solid platform for your valuable and high quality equipment. We were the first manufacturer to fully engineer our piers, then 100% machine, them; from the highest strength aluminum and stainless steel alloys - not fabricate them from welded tubing or pre-formed extrusions and aftermarket telescopic columns (profiles also known as T-slots). We were the first manufacturer to place as much importance on the aesthetics, and fit and finish, as the rigidity and performance. We were the first to offer a host of features never before incorporated in piers (variable height portable pier, 360 degree rotatable pier adapter), advanced leveling, fine height built on the shoes for critical polar alignment and many more). We were the first to offer both anodized and powder coated finishes in various colors and combinations. We come up with the ideas and designs, and set the standard by which others try to follow (just check around and you will see copies of our CNC machined piers, FIA/360 degree pier adapter, Pinnacle Pier - both variable and fixed heights, segmented design, retacting stays, and etc.
)

Compare our piers and you will realize there is really only one choice if you would like the best, not to mention the most for your money

Please note in the picture below the black Monolith LT with HGM-200. Thought the 7” version is not designed for such a large and heavy mount, it can still easily handle the load for not only visual use, but CCD imaging as well. The HGM-200 pictured was used for our testing using a C11 (total weight of over 160 pounds). With an 11mm Nagler (255X magnification), the image dampens in 2 - 3 seconds when a strong impact is introduced to the telescope. The Astro-physics Mach1 carrying a custom 8” f4 Newtonian with the same 11mm Nagler dampens in a little over one second. Up to now, this level of performance could only be achieved from a larger and much heavier pier.
